Dastkar Nature Bazaar: Handloom and HandCraft Exhibition Bangalore

Hi, Folks!

India is one of the rare countries which is famous for its culture, hand crafted monuments, hand woven garments, paintings. Each state in India is famous for some or other crafts and apparels. In the midst of the westernization people of India are forgetting about India’s heritage. Western countries are coming forth and showing interest in Indian art and craft.

One of the Organization which is trying to preserve Indian heritage is Dastkar, which  is an Indian non-government organisation working with craftspeople across India, for promotion and revival of traditional crafts of India. It was founded in 1981 in Delhi, by a group of six women, including Laila Tyabji who is current chairperson of Dastkar. Kurtas Amor is a small scale industry from Rajasthan. I particularly got attracted towards this shop because there were lots of printed kurta’s and shirt’s which were naturally dyed and printed with 100% natural and organic. From plucking of fiber to fabric weaving to fabric treatment with dyes everything is natural and organic. If you see prices of kurta’s and shirt’s it starts from Rs.500 to Rs.5000. Mostly geometrical motifs were intricately printed with 100% organic dyes.

2. Women Saree’s

Basically M.I.Karigar make Chandheri Saree’s which is famous for its floral motifs, geometrical prints on saree. China silk and it’s blend yarns are used to produce these kind of saree. Chandheri Saree’s are named after the village called Chandheri in Madhya Pradesh, because it was originated from this village. Price range of one saree if you see it starts from Rs. 1600 to Rs. 7000.

Poosh hand crafts is the name of the shop which is an individual owned shop from Rajasthan. Above slideshow of pictures are all crafts which are handmade by using  paper which you can possibly imagine. Indoor games like snake and ladder, ludo and from handmade bookmarks to watches which are made with some creativity. One will surely revisit his/her childhood when you befall to this particular shop. Though the prices for these products are high but they are worth the price.

These are best stalls which i liked. There are other stalls which you may love. As a Indian and fashion blogger i thought to promote this kind of exhibition where our culture is been exhibited in it’s purest form.

This kind of exhibition is very rare, if you want to see some amazing and delicately crafted products this place is must to visit.

Till next post.
